How to easily connect any third-party application to your POS
Integration is the act of combining software tools, such as accounting, marketing, e-commerce, payment processing, and your POS (Point of Sale) system, into one place. It allows your applications to access real-time information from the POS system. It automates tracking and record-keeping, greatly simplifying the organization of your business and making the process more convenient for restaurant employees and guests.
Interaction from the outside
To integrate various applications for employees and guests with Simphony, a special service has been developed which can be installed on your POS. The service allows you to interact with the system externally and integrate with almost any other third-party application installed on a customer’s server.
The API enables the use of the core business functions of SimphonyPOS. It integrates with the system, whether a mobile application, a form on a website, or a self-service kiosk. For example, Room Service requests are sent immediately to the database, and tasks for the chef are automatically printed in the kitchen.
Key Features
API integration with Simphony allows you to perform multiple transactions on the POS:
· Creation of guest receipts in the Simphony database.
· Adding menu items: discounts, mark-ups, payment to existing open guest checks.
· Deleting items from the cheque and complete cancellation.
· Summary of all open guest cheques from one or all hotel revenue centers.
· Calculation of total transaction amount.
· Ability to print a guest cheque.
All guest cheques sent through the API can be opened in the user interface of the server’s workstation.
New features
This integration significantly reduces the time required to manage and administer your restaurant, allowing you to merge data/information and use automation efficiently. Reporting is also easier because less manual input is needed, which is a great time saver for small and medium-sized business owners who face work-life balance issues.
Integrating via a third-party app API with Oracle MICROS Simphony allows guests to order remotely from either a self-service kiosk or a mobile app. The waiter can send it instantly to the kitchen without needing to write it down in a notebook. Thanks to the integration, you receive all orders remotely, and the system sends them centrally via the web app.
The integration ensures seamless communication between your POS system and third-party platforms used in day-to-day operations. When done well, full integration will help you significantly improve efficiency and provide your customers with the highest level of service, inspiring them to place orders with you repeatedly.
